Obama position likely will embolden terrorists

If anything, Obama’s statement—misunderstood or not—that Israel should return to its pre-67 borders will embolden Palestinian terrorists, evidenced by Hamas calling for a return to 1948 borders.

If Obama is unwilling to make demands of Hamas to halt all attacks on Israel, etc., but instead puts the weight on Israel to cave in, Hamas and Hezbollah will see that as tacit approval of their positions. If Obama continues down this road, look for increased attacks from Gaza and Lebanon in coming months.

He offered a “helpful” clarification of his positions on Sunday to the American Israel Political Action Committee, saying that he was misrepresented, although his statement on Thursday was pretty clear. Either the Great Miscommunicator blew it again or, as suggested on WLS-AM this morning, he was testing the waters.

I really got a kick out of this response from senior Hamas leader Mahmoud Zahar:

Speaking to Al-Emirate Al-Youm, Zahar asked “Why won’t we talk about the 1948 borders? Why won’t we discuss the partition plan which was internationally  recognized?”

Of course, that partition plan was rejected by all Arabs, who immediately launched a war on Israel. Now it’s what they want? Well, I guess that’s progress.

Noam Chomsky denied entry to Israel | The Daily Caller

This is funny. A nation that actually exercises sense on whom it will allow to enter its country. Gotta love that policy.

JERUSALEM (AP) — An Israeli official says academic and polemicist Noam Chomsky, who is a fierce critic of Israel, has been denied entry to the country.

Interior Ministry spokeswoman Sabine Haddad said Chomsky was turned away for “various reasons” but declined to elaborate. Chomsky was trying to cross the Allenby Bridge from Jordan. He was scheduled to deliver a lecture at Bir Zeit University in the West Bank.

Haddad said her ministry was looking into allowing him to enter only the West Bank.

Chomsky told Channel 10 TV from Jordan Sunday: “I’ve often spoken at Israeli universities.”

Chomsky is one of Israel’s harshest academic critics. After Israel’s 2009 war in Gaza, he was quoted as saying, “supporters of Israel are in reality supporters of its moral degeneration.”

One of two things

Either insanity or evil:

“For the Palestinian people, death has become an industry, at which women excel, and so do all the people living on this land,” Hamas parliamentarian Fathi Hammad said on Al-Aqsa TV last February 29. “This is why they have formed human shields of the women, the children, the elderly, and the mujahideen, in order to challenge the Zionist bombing machine. It is as if they were saying to the Zionist enemy: ‘We desire death like you desire life.’ ”

Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh’s adviser, Ahmed Yousef, told Der Spiegel last February: “If the Israelis want our blood, I’m willing to sacrifice my children.”

From here.

A lesson in reality for Hamas

Being a terrorist doesn’t automatically make one stupid, just evil. Hamas, though, appears to be trying to prove that it does affect intelligence. Why else would the Gaza Palestinians continue to fire missiles at Israel?

Watch this video at jpost.com. The first part of it shows Hamas terrorists loading a truck with Grad missiles. Suddenly, the screen seems to go blank, but it’s just the brightness of the explosion as the truck disintegrates — along with the terrorists who had been tending to it.

This is what the video should tell you, Hamas: You can’t win, not as long as Israel remains determined to eliminate your missile attacks on the southern part of the country. Give up or go focus your hatred on some other nation.

Enough is enough. Israel should just roll into and over Gaza. Let the Arab nations figure out what to do with the survivors. Israel has played by the appeasers’ rules for too long. All it means is death and destruction for its own citizens. Operation Cast Lead is overdue and, hopefully, will result in victory for Israel.
